Remembering 9/11

Today on the tenth anniversary of 9/11, I am reminded of the horrors, sorrow and devastation humans can inflict on each other. I am reminded of a moment when we witnessed human life taken in cascading towers, burned by hatred and misunderstanding. I am also reminded that in the worst moments, the best in people shine – those men and women commissioned to help and those, who in a moment of need, rose to the occasion. I will take a moment today to remember…

I will not politicize, hypothesize, categorize or preach. I will humanize, dignify and magnify the sacredness that is life. To all those who lost their lives, to all those touched and forever altered on that day, I honor you by not squandering my time. To all those who right now are facing their own private struggles and who are putting one foot in front of the other, I honor you by not complaining. To all those who have risen from the ashes of regret, sorrow, disease, loss and pain I am honored to share a planet with you. Today, I honor the need in all of us to connect, to be loved, to be seen.

I see you and I am honored.

I couldn't agree more. I can't believe it's already been 10 years. Well said.
