“The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future, or anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.” - Buddha
The Present is Perfect is one of the most challenging but most effective principles to creating the life you want. I have personally experienced the difficulty of living this principle. It is worth the commitment to rise to this challenge, as once you grasp this concept you will gain momentum and the life you desire is more easily realized. The present is perfect is about acceptance. Your present moment may not be ideal but it is perfectly capable of giving you information, providing feedback and leveraging change. It is the sweet spot and when harnessed can give you the accuracy and aim to develop this moment and your future. Living in the present is the very best way to optimize your future and does not mean you have given up the dream of a better day or life; the opposite actually! It means that you know that the future is always here and it is occurring the second after this one and after this one and on and on… You see, what you do here and now is your future. You can navigate the future and release the past by perfecting this moment.
“With the past, I have nothing to do; nor with the future. I live now.”
- Ralph Waldo Emerson
THE FUTURE IS HERE
So what exactly does this mean and how do you do it? It means that you have a heightened awareness of all the time periods; past, present and future. It is the embodiment of your entire experience in the here and now, the translation and understanding of the information from the past and the clear vision for the future, encapsulated within the thoughts and actions you choose and proclaim now. It is the anchoring of your mind and the focusing of your energy to think and speak in ways that ensures your health and happiness. Remember you get what you believe and a belief is a thought you have over and over again, so if you are ruminating on the mistakes of the past, voila, here they are again - in the future. If you are constantly wishing for someday, then you are missing opportunities in the moment to design the very someday you are wishing for. Presence creates awareness and the more aware and accepting you are of yourself and your current experience the more likely you are to become a master architect of your life. The Present is Perfect is the knowledge that this moment is all there is, the acceptance of that very reality and the wisdom to know that your future is presently occuring.
