Get in Touch with Your Feelings
Positive and negative are directions. Which direction do you choose?

My GPS IS BROKEN?!
Thinking of the possibilities is about, reaching for a slightly better thought; one that moves you closer to your natural state of being and allows you to align to the vibrations of harmony and peace, drawing to you the abundance in all areas that you long for. So, how do you do this? You can begin by focusing on small things to be grateful for and you take a step to engage in an activity that allows you to gently urge yourself forward. Although some people have epiphanies and transformative moments where they shed the old and climb quickly, most people gradually adapt to or temper themselves to the new feeling. As Esther and Jerry Hicks said,” your emotions are your GPS” and as a Life Coach my goal is not to gloss over negative emotions or to fake positivity but instead to use your feelings as a guide. What are your emotions telling you about your current thoughts and what would you like to feel? No matter what your current circumstances are, you can reach for a slightly better, more empowering thought. This thought will lead to a better feeling, which will lead to the result you want. For example, instead of, “my life is so joyful and full of love” you might respond better energetically, emotionally and intellectually to, “I am open to feeling a moment of joy today or I am open to seeing things to be grateful for.” I like this approach, as the jolt created by moving from the thought, “my life sucks” and deep sadness and overwhelm into the ideal state, aka thoughts and feelings you want to experience, can be a little disconcerting to the system. The old patterns in your brain and the emotional chemistry that your body is addicted to tend to rebel a bit. Your aim is to tune into your emotions, identify what you are feeling and then determine a thought that will provide relief from the negative emotion. As you can see, you are not ignoring the emotion or controlling your thoughts; simply acknowledging and replacing. As you continue this process you will gradually shift your position on the emotional ladder and possibilities will positively expand.

Well said!!! I have tried the other way and ended feeling like a failure and undeserving. Your approach is freeing in the sense that it gives me permission to feel. Thanks Shawna,
Shawna - would you be able to explain the list of emotions and discuss the reason for the order that they're in. I assume they are in that order for a reason.
That is a great question. Each emotion has a different vibration or energy frequency, or as it is explained in the book, we vibrate according to the emotion we are attuned with in the moment. This scale was given to Esther Hicks by a "being" named Abraham who explained that how we label or what we call emotions is not as important as how we feel when we are experiencing that state. It is meant to be a guideline as each of us have our own variations within this scale. The key point is that the movement on the scale is movement towards source or attunement with pure energy. Muscle testing, quantum physics etc. have been showing the relevance of the scale and the higher states of consciousness. Another book that is interesting is, Power VS. Force, by David R. Hawkins. Hope that helps.
